I fell in love with this team and the models. These are the Tiranoc Exiles, painted and converted from the Games Workshop Dark Elf team from the BB2016 edition. The only problem I had is the same problem that I have with all of the BB2016 teams - the duplication of sculpts. To solve this, I spent a lot of time converting this team. Every piece is unique, and I mixed in a couple of other kits to give the results that I wanted.
The Runner uses a lot of one of the BB2016 Elf Union players along with some green stuff, while the second Witch Elf is mostly made up of the second Forge World Assassin model. The first is used as the actual Assassin, and might be my favourite model of the lot.
I built this team for the 2019 World Cup in Dornbirn, with the aim to push for best painted. I didn't come close, but I'm still pleased with the end result, even if it nearly killed me.
To make them stand out, I thought I would build a display base, but as always, I decided to be overambitious. Being as I dislike the way the model bases stick out on display bases, I thought I'd find a solution.
Magnets.
The base is made of a sticky backed magnetic strip, and each model has magnets in its feet. That means that they can be moved between the miniature bases (also magnets) and the display base freely as needed.
I wouldn't recommend it though; it did not work as an experiment. This team is a nightmare to play with. They fall over a lot, especially those miniatures on only one foot.
That said, I might try again with a more static team.
Nothing.
Dark Elves suck.
