Classic Models
I've always loved Tyranids; the rightful heirs to, and owners of, the galaxy.
Growing up in the 90s, the 2nd Edition models are the ones I knew and loved, so when I could, I built an army using them.
This army was also an exercise in budgeting, for as a poor student, I just couldn't afford GW's prices.
I sourced the entire 1750pt army for under £130, mainly from eBay. It seems that no one wanted these beauties, so I gave them a home.
Planetary Assault
My Hive Fleet doesn't crawl across the battlefield; it falls out of the sky.
Every single unit was designed to fit into a custom built Mycetic Spore.
The army was originally built for 6th Edition, but didn't actually see combat until 8th, so by the time I got to use them, the rules had changed.
In 8th, this was a substandard list, but it was still a hell of a lot of fun!
Forward Elements
Of course, someone had to lead the way, so I built a couple of conversions to give me a Deathleaper and the Parasite of Mortrex. Together, they laid scent trails and eggs so that the Hive Mind could triumph.
